Payments and Billing Information

When you buy a paid plan, or make a one-time or monthly supporter contribution, we process limited billing information to complete and manage the transaction.

Payments are processed by PayPal, our third-party payment processor. Your card or bank details are entered on PayPal's secure systems and are not stored on our servers. We receive only the information needed to manage your subscription, such as the plan, billing status, the last four digits and brand of the card, billing contact, and invoice records.

We use this information to activate and renew your plan, issue invoices and receipts, apply tax exemptions, provide support, and prevent fraud. We do not use payment information for advertising, and we never sell it.

We keep billing and invoice records for as long as needed to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. PayPal processes payment data under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.

Payment and billing information relates to the adult who manages an account or makes a contribution, not to student learners. We never request payment information from children.

Advertising and Your Data

Meta Typing Club is funded in part by advertising, which helps keep every lesson free. A paid plan (Plus or Pro) removes advertising for the account that holds it. A parent's or teacher's Pro plan, and a school's paid plan, also remove advertising for the learners they cover. Advertising is non-personalised: we do not build advertising profiles of you and do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

We never run behavioural or targeted advertising to children. A student in a school or family, and any child who registers on their own account, are shown only Meta Typing Club’s own house promotions — no third-party advertising request is ever made for them. For a signed-out visitor on the lesson pages, any advertising request carries a child-directed treatment tag, so no personalised or behavioural ads are served. A school that has chosen an ads-off arrangement shows its students no advertising at all, and no advertisement is ever placed next to the keyboard or the text a learner types.

Advertising is delivered through third-party ad providers that operate under their own privacy policies. These providers may process limited technical data, such as a truncated IP address and device type, to serve and measure non-personalised ads. You can control advertising by choosing a paid plan or by managing your consent preferences in the website footer.

5. Data Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords stored only in hashed form, and access controls so people see only the data their role allows. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep each kind of data only as long as we need it to run Meta Typing Club, then we delete it. Some data is deleted automatically after a set time; other data is kept while your account exists and is deleted together with your account.

6. Children's Privacy

Children under 13 use Meta Typing Club through an account created for them by a parent, or by a teacher or school for schoolwork. That adult or school gives consent for the child. We collect only what lessons need: a name, a username and typing results. We never ask children for an email address, birth date or phone number. A parent can see their child's progress, and can ask us to review or delete the child's data by emailing metatypingclub@gmail.com. We keep a child's information only while their account is active and delete it when the account is deleted.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format

No passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal information is ever captured by these tools.
