Meta Typing Club
For IT teams

Deploy on your devices

Meta Typing Club runs in the browser, so there is nothing to download. Push it to student devices as an app with the tool you already use.

Start URL

https://metatypingclub.com/

Chromebooks: Google Admin console

  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console (admin.google.com) with an administrator account.
  2. Go to Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions > Users & browsers and select the organizational unit for your students.
  3. Select the add (+) button, choose "Add by URL" and paste the start URL above.
  4. Set the installation policy to "Force install" (or "Force install + pin to ChromeOS taskbar") and save.
  5. Chromebooks pick up the app at the next policy sync, and it appears in the launcher.

Windows: Microsoft Intune

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft Intune admin center (intune.microsoft.com).
  2. Go to Apps > All apps > Add and choose the app type "Windows web link".
  3. Name it Meta Typing Club and paste the start URL above as the app URL.
  4. Under Assignments, add your student device or user group as Required, then select Review + create.
  5. To open it as an installed app in Microsoft Edge, also add the start URL to the Edge policy "Configure list of force-installed Web Apps" in a Settings catalog profile.

iPad and Mac: Apple MDM web clip

  1. In your Apple device management tool (Jamf, Mosyle, Intune or another MDM), create a configuration profile.
  2. Add a Web Clip payload with the label Meta Typing Club and the start URL above.
  3. Turn on "Full screen" so it opens like an app, and add the app icon below.
  4. Assign the profile to your student iPads and Macs; the icon appears on the Home Screen or in the Dock at the next check-in.

Students then open the app and sign in as usual. Teachers manage their classes from the dashboard, with nothing else to install.
