Meta Typing Club

What device is best for typing practice?

A desktop or laptop computer with a full physical keyboard is best for typing practice, because touch typing relies on placing all ten fingers on real keys. Meta Typing Club is mobile-responsive, but practicing on a phone touchscreen is not recommended. A tablet with a connected keyboard works well too.

Why a physical keyboard matters

Touch typing is about muscle memory across the whole keyboard, so you learn fastest on real keys you can feel without looking. A standard desktop or laptop keyboard gives you that.

Tablets and phones

The site works on mobile screens, but an on-screen phone keyboard cannot teach true touch typing. If you use a tablet, pair it with a Bluetooth or attached keyboard for a proper practice setup. See using Meta Typing Club on mobile for details.

Browsers and school computers

Any modern browser works, including on Chromebooks and school lab machines. Check supported browsers and whether it works on Chromebooks and labs.
