Guides and answers for students, teachers, parents, and schools
Getting Started
What Meta Typing Club is, how to start your first lesson, languages, and devices.
What is Meta Typing Club?
Meta Typing Club is a free, browser-based platform that teaches touch typing in five languages — English, Russian, Persian, Pashto, and Dari. It offers structured lessons, real-time feedback, and role-based dashboards for students, teachers, parents, and schools, with full right-to-left support.
You can start your first lesson right away, with no account needed. Open Meta Typing Club, pick your typing language, choose the first lesson in the Introduction category, then type the highlighted characters as they appear. When you finish, a completion screen shows your WPM, accuracy, and stars.
Yes, for individuals it is completely free. Every lesson and language is free for individual learners, families, and self-signup teachers, parents, and students, with no subscription, payment, or credit card. Schools, districts, and organizations are not free, so please contact us to discuss pricing.
Meta Typing Club supports five languages: English, Russian, Persian (Farsi), Pashto, and Dari. Each has a full curriculum from beginner to advanced. Persian, Pashto, and Dari use native right-to-left layouts, while English and Russian are left-to-right.
No. Meta Typing Club runs entirely in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. Just open the site in a modern browser like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge and start typing. There is no app to install on your computer, phone, or tablet.
What is the difference between the website language and the typing language?
The website language controls the interface text, like menus and buttons, while the typing language controls which lessons and keyboard you practice. They are separate, so you can read the site in English but practice typing in Persian, or any other combination you want.
A desktop or laptop computer with a full physical keyboard is best for typing practice, because touch typing relies on placing all ten fingers on real keys. Meta Typing Club is mobile-responsive, but practicing on a phone touchscreen is not recommended. A tablet with a connected keyboard works well too.
After you log in, open the user menu in the top bar and select your dashboard, or click your role link in the navigation. Your dashboard depends on your role: students see lessons and progress, teachers see classes, parents see their children, and admins see management tools.
