How do stars and stamps work after a lesson?

After each lesson you earn 1 to 5 stars based on three things: accuracy, words per minute, and Real Accuracy. Higher performance earns more stars. Five stars need 85%+ accuracy, 20+ WPM, and 50%+ Real Accuracy. Stars mark which lessons you have mastered.

How the rating is calculated

Your star rating blends three metrics, so all three matter, not just speed. The thresholds are:

  • 5 stars: 85%+ accuracy, 20+ WPM, 50%+ Real Accuracy
  • 4 stars: 75%+ accuracy, 15+ WPM, 40%+ Real Accuracy
  • 3 stars: 65%+ accuracy, 10+ WPM, 30%+ Real Accuracy
  • 2 stars: 50%+ accuracy, 5+ WPM, 20%+ Real Accuracy

Why speed alone is not enough

You cannot earn top stars by typing fast and guessing. Because Real Accuracy only counts first-try keystrokes, sloppy typing keeps your rating low even at high speed. This keeps your stars honest.

Chasing better stars

If you want to improve a lesson's rating, you can replay it any time. See how to retry a lesson or move to the next one, and build a daily habit with streaks.
