How lessons work, progress, WPM and Real Accuracy, stars, streaks, and RTL typing.

How do the typing lessons work?

Lessons follow a structured curriculum that starts at the home row and grows to full sentences. Each lesson belongs to a category like introduction, keys, keys-space, review, exercise, or challenge. You type the shown text, get instant visual and audio feedback, and earn a star rating when you finish.

How is my progress saved and tracked?

Your progress is saved automatically as you complete lessons. With an account, your stars, completed lessons, speed, and accuracy sync across devices. Without an account, progress is kept in your browser only, so it can be lost if you clear your browser data or switch devices.

What is Real Accuracy and how is it different from Accuracy?

Real Accuracy measures how often you hit the correct key on the first try, before any corrections. Accuracy measures the final text after fixes. You can reach 100% Accuracy by fixing every mistake, but Real Accuracy stays honest because it only counts first-try keystrokes, so it reflects true typing skill.

How do stars and stamps work after a lesson?

After each lesson you earn 1 to 5 stars based on three things: accuracy, words per minute, and Real Accuracy. Higher performance earns more stars. Five stars need 85%+ accuracy, 20+ WPM, and 50%+ Real Accuracy. Stars mark which lessons you have mastered.

What is a streak and how do I keep mine going?

A streak counts the number of days in a row you practice. Each day you complete at least one lesson, your streak grows by one. Miss a day and it resets. Streaks are a simple way to build a daily typing habit, which is the fastest way to improve.

How does typing work for right-to-left languages like Persian, Pashto, and Dari?

Meta Typing Club fully supports right-to-left typing. For Persian, Pashto, and Dari, the lesson text, cursor, and on-screen keyboard all flow right to left with native layouts. You type the characters of the language directly, and the interface mirrors itself so the experience feels natural.

What is the on-screen keyboard and hand guide for?

During a lesson, an on-screen keyboard and a pair of guide hands appear below the text. They highlight the next key to press and which finger to use, so you can learn correct finger placement without looking down at your real keyboard. This is how you build true touch-typing muscle memory.

Can I turn the typing sounds on or off?

Yes. Meta Typing Club plays sound feedback as you type, with separate cues for correct keystrokes and mistakes. You can toggle these sounds on or off at any time. Audio is optional, so you can practice silently in a classroom or library, or keep it on for extra feedback.

Should I retry a lesson or move to the next one?

After finishing a lesson, the completion screen lets you retry the same lesson or continue to the next one. Retry when you want a better star rating or higher Real Accuracy. Move on once you are comfortable, since the next lesson builds on the skills you just practiced.
