How do the typing lessons work?

Lessons follow a structured curriculum that starts at the home row and grows to full sentences. Each lesson belongs to a category like introduction, keys, keys-space, review, exercise, or challenge. You type the shown text, get instant visual and audio feedback, and earn a star rating when you finish.

A path from home row to fluency

Meta Typing Club has over 2,500 lessons across five languages. Lessons are grouped into categories so each step builds on the last. You start with the introduction and keys categories to learn finger placement one key at a time, move through keys-space to join keys into words, then practice with review and exercise lessons before testing yourself on a challenge.

What happens during a lesson

The target text appears on screen with an on-screen keyboard and hand guide below it. As you type, correct characters are marked and mistakes are flagged in real time. When you finish, a completion screen shows your speed, accuracy, and a star rating.

Do I have to follow the order?

We recommend following the lesson order for the best results, but you can skip ahead if you already know a skill. To understand the ratings you earn, see how stars and stamps work and what Real Accuracy means.
